Winter bride by Elie Saab Haute Couture

Inspired by the royal majesty of medieval times, in his haute couture haute couture fall/winter 2017-18 collection Elie Saab showcased a wedding gown gilded with the mastery of Haute Couture technique.

The bride is crowned by a hooded cape descending into a train so lengthy and embellished it is carried by two maidens behind her. The essential silhouette is striking and streamlined, around a pearl white bustier. Yet the poetic patterns in medieval arabesques carries the gown into another dimension.

Fifteen artisans—including patternmakers, embroiders and seamstresses—worked for months on this one wedding dress, shaping its meters of tulle, crinoline and duchesse satin. Upon it are hand-worked 15,000 sequins, 9,000 pearls and 12,000 glass beads and crystals embroidered with golden silk thread.

With regal stature and elaborate detail crafted by the best of haute couture technique, a winter tale is told in scintillating white and gold.
