16R Firenze Sping Summer 02 collection retrace Milick Sidibé photographic path, while portraying youth culture and 60s – 70s dancing evenings. The typical family frames that the photographer shots inspire the designer Romina Caponi in geometry and shapes, a mix between past and present, ironic and romantic at the same time.
The shirt takes shape with asymmetrical lines and geometric patterns. The yarns are shiny and light in colourful viscose and hand-woven cottons with mesh work. As the dance of his characters meets Malick Sidibé, Romina Caponi draws a new line where the ancient manual dexterity of hand-made joins the technology of plissé and jacquard inlaid work. The palette in part represent the shades use in the 60s -70s. Pastel colours are combined with burnt terracotta in all different shades of red and the colors of white and black emphasizes contrasts.
Romina creates a new collection accessory, the knitwear turban, with jacquard optical designs and proposes a new version of culottes in pure cotton, made by hand in lamé yarn.
