The Metropolitan Museum of New York has dedicated a fabulous exhibition to Jacqueline De Ribes, whom Valentino called the “Ultimate Queen of Paris’” The Countess, known the world over for her exotic charm, natural elegance, and dazzling personality, is nothing short of an eternal style icon.
Titled “Jacqueline De Ribes: The Art of Style”, the show has been well acclaimed by critics, fashionistas and intellectuals. The exhibition includes a selection of the Countesses wardrobe, renowned the world over for its value; a stunning array of vintage pieces from Haute Couture maisons and designers such as Christian Dior, Oleg Cassini and Emilio Pucci, who affectionately called her his “little giraffe” for her long, elegant neck. The fashion diva shared this distinguishing feature with another unforgettable and charming style icon, Marella Agnelli, who became famous as “The Last Swan” (it's also the title of her autobiography) after the remarkable portrait of her by Richard Avedon in 1953.
