The intimacy of English parlors, where floral wallpaper echoes gold dipped porcelain, it's the main concept of the new Fall/Winter 2016-17 Collection by Giuliana Mancinelli Bonafaccia.
The roman designer uses “rivoli” and “navette” cut stones on jewelry, mini-bags and polychrome clutches, leading us in the finely decorated meanders of the mid-nineteenth century cottages and mansions, in the intimate spaces and the noble traits of the novel "Vanity Fair", suggesting green, rose gold and palladium dipped ornaments, as a reminiscence of sumptuous antique tinsels. Sinuous leaf decorations, connected to opalescent Swarovski pearls create asymmetric filaments with botanical allure for the earrings and rings, climbing on the wrist in the bracelets and blossoming at the extremity of necklaces and pendants. The handbags, in the mini and maxi version, are the right synthesis between material research and perfect color theory with their extremely desirable "student" style.
The palette dares to create contrast to emphasize the contemporary approach devoted to design with its highly artificial tones. Hence the triumph of color in the jewelry with vibrant hues: Jade, lime, olive green, dust rose, ash grey, padparadscha red and sunflower yellow; as for handbags we have overlays of mustard, bright red, pink, sapphire blue and burgundy, emphasized by tridimensional ruffles that mirror the opulent interiors of 19th century.
