Yonca Karakas is a turkish photographer born in 1982. She creates elegant compositions in which three are constants that are repeated and marked her artist statement: the surrealist element, a detached glance from people portraited who seem to be so far away from her and the cold and frosty light illuminating their diaphanous faces.
Her creature seem like clones or robots, not common human beings. Mysterious and charming in their bourgeois dresses, in space with refined home furniture, between white, pink and pale blue enhanced by golden touches of non sense object, they renonate of pure symbolism.
