As part of Paris Fashion Week, the Spring/ Summer 2022 Couture Collection of Georges Chakra was launched digitally on the 25th of January.
George Chakra’s Spring/Summer 2022 Collection is a contemporary interpretation of Grecian Classicism. The purity, clarity of structure, and poetic expression that characterized this period in history is interpreted into wearable pieces imbued with light, balance, and passion.
The unique designs inspire a range of emotions: finely pleated crêpe stirs the imagination, ethereal chiffon evokes desire, and fine, geometric beading breathes new meaning into the formal cocktail gowns.
Sequins and embroidery emphasize the unique structure of every garment, drawing attention to the subtle asymmetry of a neckline or heightening the visual effect of a sensuous geometric design. Fabrics such as tailored crêpe, supple jersey and luminescent maille sensually drape the body, subtly revealing its contours.
Inspired by the sun-drenched Mediterranean, the colors range from pale alabaster of a classical statue to vanilla, blush, sand, and fawn. Dusty pastels gleam: iridescent seashell, powdered amethyst, dream blue.
Traces of metallic gold and silver shimmer throughout adding a delicate and precious touch, like early morning light dancing on crushing waves.
Tracce d'oro metallico e d'argento scintillano aggiungendo un tocco delicato e prezioso, come la luce del primo mattino che danza sulle onde che si infrangono.
This 45-piece collection was presented in a decidedly urban abandoned Parisian garage.
The contrast between George Chakra’s exquisite designs and this béton brut setting is stark yet dramatic, the paroxysm being the appearance of his wedding dress, a full skirted vision in vanilla-tinted mesh guipure appliquéd with lustrous petals of organza embroidered with threads of gold, that gives new meaning to a goddess gown.
