Fashion News:

Havana’s rhythms

Cuba is a window that opens onto the world’s great colours, the zestful hues that have inspired Sonia De Nisco to create her Spring /Summer 2017 Collection: frontier images evoking the Caribbean island, Havana’s rhythms throbbing among Baroque and neoclassical dreams, the bright horizons of Hemingway’s prose and the swaying mood that celebrates an unbridled lust for life. From these suggestions Sonia De Nisco weaves stories of next summer into her clothing, which evokes exotic and elusive womanhood, radiating subtle irony through hypnotic eyes.

And then again… surprising formality strides in masculine suits – always a Sonia De Nisco favourite – where jackets and pants flaunt ultra-light materials and the brand’s trademark passion for tailoring, endowing every outfit with extreme zeal plus frontier-flaunting explorations of style. Cuba’s evenings pass quickly, catching the fresh breeze that dances in from the sea. Sonia De Nisco follows the quivering but calm flow of this breeze, conjuring up loose shawls covered with linen, while her knee-length cotton creations assert new forms of classicism, thanks also to contemporary raw-cut lower hems.

The materials are chosen to evoke the farawayness of this inspirational space, where denim fabric and ribbed textures alternate with refreshing linen and mix with refined gestures in crepe de chine, striped viscose and lurex.
