Sláinte in Dublin

It is no surprise that the Architectural Digest has included The Westbury among the five most beautiful hotels in Dublin, thanks to its classic and contemporary interiors, the marble-clad lobby and carefully restored antique furniture. Tucked away on a quiet side street off Grafton Street in the Creative Quarter, a neighborhood known for its convivial bars, restaurants and boutiques, The Westbury also features a 1930s-style cocktail bar, The Sidecar.

An evening drink at The Sidecar is made memorable by the experienced whiskey chief barman and sommelier, Michael O'Shea, head of whiskey tasting at Sidecar.

The Westbury is also happy to arrange an exclusive whiskey tasting for guests of The Leading Hotels of the World. During your private meeting, Michael O'Shea will teach you the origins and history of each liqueur and will advise you on the best pairings and presentations for different types of whiskey. Before your experience, you are invited to let Michael know your preferences, so that he can adapt the tasting to your palate. If you want to try something typically Irish, try one of over 30 bottles of single malt, small-batch whiskey and aged behind the counter of The Sidecar.

Or, after a long day of business meetings or sightseeing in the city, sit back in front of one of Michael's impeccable creations in the hotel's cozy speakeasy-style bar. Try the Emerald Cocktail, a reinterpretation of the classic Manhattan, based on Irish single grain whiskey Teeling, sweet vermouth Dolin and bitter orange. For something more unusual, we recommend the Sidecar Privileged Cocktail, an inebriating drink made with 2002 Fins Bois cognac from one of only six bottles produced in the world. But it is a truly privileged cocktail: get ready to pay well 150 euros for a glass. Sláinte.
