HARMONT & BLAINE s/s 2017 collection bring the colours and the atmosphere of Mediterranean marketplaces to the 90th Pitti Immagine Uomo Show. Stripes take centrestage with their ability to transfigure any outfit by adding crisp and colourful appeal.
This collection draws inspiration from Mediterranean marketplaces. Few things define the Mediterranean better than its marketplaces: a marvellous medley of clamouring voices, enticing perfumes and warm colours intertwines frenetically and chaotically, reaching a climax of near perfection. Stripes are the common thread of this spring/summer 2017 collection. The intention is to add dimension to our outfits, giving them a crisp and colourful feel: stripes crop up on our softly textured and unstructured jackets and also in our knitwear selection where they come in an array of classic colours and the lines are punctuated, becoming asymmetrical. The same asymmetrical design appears on polo shirts and t-shirts, whilst on our shirt range diagonal stripes take the form of subtle appliqué strips in nautical colours enhanced by bright lemongrass greens and cherry reds.
Linen occupies a prime position in our collection and magnificently encapsulates the summer mood in our jacket range. It turns up not only in its raw state in a natural hue but also in a soft and lightweight structured weave with an elegantly grainy feel. The spotlight is on linen once again as colourful raw-cut patches of linen shirt fabric adorn linen piqué polo shorts and walking shorts. The linen chino pants in an ample colour palette are equally distinctive. The shirts and the colourful bermuda shorts are steeped in the hues and carefree atmosphere of the summer as expressed by the patchwork of patterns, prints and stripes which evoke the vivid hues of market stall canopies fluttering in the wind and the crates of fresh fruit and flowers on the dusty ground. The color contrasts are available both in the “8 shirt fabrics”, the iconic item of clothing of the Harmont & Blaine collection, both in the “Salina Pant”, giving the pants a modern twist near to the blue ocean, characterized by a contrasting pocket.
Product innovation is also a dominant theme with our “Mediterranean Sun” shirt. At first sight, it look like a white shirt, but in reality it has a unique micropattern print in a chromatic colour which turns blue when it comes into contact with the sun. A special capsule collection has been created and dedicated to this innovative process: the same clever effect has been obtained on our Vietri polo shirt, a t-shirt, some swimming trunks and a pair of bermuda shorts. Our men’s footwear is also imbued with the colours of Mediterranean marketplaces. In particular, the Maiori model combines the pared-back elegance of a moccasin with the comfort of a sneaker. It comes in two different versions: either in blubber or in perforated suede with a custom rubber outsole and the symbol of the dachshund in tonal embroidery on the side upper. The colours are stunningly expressed in the Running footwear range which has a vast palette of shades and materials, including fabric, calfskin and suede.
