To celebrate the Pride Month 2021, Borsalino launches a new capsule collection of unisex hats and caps dedicated to the joy of living and the freedom to express one’s individuality and personal voice.
Characterized by a themed rainbow emblem, the collection symbolizes the importance in celebrating love and diversity in all forms, lending its support towards the LGBTQ+ community. This colorful representative hymn of freedom is seen throughout the vibrant Borsalino Pride 2021 collection starring such pieces like the Panama hat, an iconic testament that honors the Maison’s long-standing tradition of artisan craftsmanship tradition with a range of Classic, rollable Colonial or with fringed brim Country styles, each with their exclusive collector’s hat box. Other capsule must haves include the baseball-cap, a beloved street style staple, in a palette of brilliant brights and tone on tone or contrasting plexiglass visors. Each of these special models from this capsule sports a proud rainbow detail to honor positivity and the happiness for Pride.
Borsalino proudly holds a long tradition in supporting civil liberties. Since its early beginnings during a patriarchal society in the second half of the nineteenth century, Borsalino encouraged women to work, sparking a real cultural revolution and inspiring generations that followed to always be kind and inclusive. Known as the Borsalines, these female hat factory workers were extraordinary examples of emancipation, a revolutionary symbol of the new world that was yet to come. Most recently, after the 2018 acquisition by Haeres Equita fund, Borsalino continues to promote diversity and inclusion with communication campaigns that star personalities such as model and transgender Valentina Sampaio for the Fall-Winter 2019/20 collection.
Under the artistic direction of Creative Curator Giacomo Santucci, Borsalino has launched a new idea of beauty that will bring the historic 160-year-old brand into the future, celebrating its iconic style and elegance. Translating its DNA into contemporary aesthetics, Santucci translates Borsalino’s supreme culture value and communication codes rendering them with a sense of belonging and style symbols.
The Borsalino Pride capsule collection will be available exclusively on e-commerce www.borsalino.com from June 11th, 2021.
